What is Telluride Choral Society “Camp”?
It’s a one-day rehearsal meant for those that want to sing with the choir but can’t commit to the whole season of rehearsals.
What is the commitment?
There are 4 dates to keep in mind: Camp itself (Saturday, November 22nd 1:30-4:30), Dress rehearsal (Wednesday Dec 3rd 5:45-6:30), Concert #1 (Friday, December 5th, call time likely 5:30 for a 7:00 concert) and lastly, Concert #2 (Sunday, December 7th, call time likely 2:30 for a 4:00 concert)
Do I have to read music or have a lot of experience?
No, not at all! You’ll have more fun if you can hold a tune, but no reading experience is needed.
So, do I actually get to sing in the concerts?
Yes, you do! Campers come for the concert, then join for one piece, toward the end of the program.
What is the choir singing this season for camp?
This season is called Camp Dalen and will feature a Dalen Stevens original called “In the Eyes of the Children”. On the off chance you don’t know Dalen, he is a long time local and singer with TCS. He’s OG Telluride and Choral Society for sure.
How do I sign up?
Easy! Just respond directly to this email and we’ll get you on the roster. You’ll then be hearing from me and other TCS board members as the date for camp nears. Dues for Camp Dalen is $30 with scholarships available.
