Dr. David Lingle
David's background is grounded in choral music. He holds the following
degrees: D.M.A. Choral Conducting, M.M.U.S. Music Theory and Composition
and a B.M.E. Choral/Voice. In addition, David has taught at schools
throughout the Midwest, including, the University of Tulsa, Tulsa Community
College, Dakota Wesleyan University and the Jenks Public Schools. In the
latter schools, David taught Third and Fourth Grade General Music and Junior and
Senior Choirs, Music Theory and Music Theater. David has conducted: the
TCC Choral Festival, Tulsa Philharmonic, Tulsa Bach Chorale and Orchestra and
his own composition, A Service of Light, on the ABC Television Network. He has
also worked on the following stage productions: Tulsa Ballet, Theater Arts
Children's Theater, Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Tulsa, Theater Tulsa, City
Arts-Tulsa and the Discoveryland Theater. David was also a member of the
Pi Kappa Lambda Honor Society. He has created many of his own pieces for
children and adult choral groups. Other than that he has about 3 more
pages of heavy-duty stuff we were totally impressed with. He has a sense
of humor as shown in the first paragraph of his resume: "I have extensive
and varied experience in choral music and music education in both public and
private institutions. This experience ranges from presenting the worst
eighth grade production of the Pirates of Penzance, including an unfortunate
mishap involving a student teacher and a giant asparagus tree, to critically
acclaimed performances with the Tulsa Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra and
others."
